Multi-factor authentication
Due to the sensitive nature of information stored. We require all Lifesafe users to have at least 2-factors of authentication configured. The easiest way to do this is to with a TOTP authenticator app on your mobile device. You will have gone through this process during signup.
Add another authenticator device
To add a new authenticator device you need to be loigged in and have access to your authenticator app.
- Go to Account, then "Security Settings".
- Under "Authenticator app" use "Setup authenticator app".
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
- On Lifesafe, enter the 6-digital code shown in your authenticator app.
Generate a new authenticator code
Generating a new code will render current codes obsolete (use this when your phone has been lost or stolen).
- Go to Account, then "Security Settings".
- Under "Authenticator app" use "Generate a new authenticator code".
- Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
- On Lifesafe, enter the 6-digital code shown in your authenticator app.
Note: Your authenticator app should have updated the one you already had, but if you have an extra one; delete it.
