Multi-factor authentication

Due to the sensitive nature of information stored. We require all Lifesafe users to have at least 2-factors of authentication configured.  The easiest way to do this is to with a TOTP authenticator app on your mobile device. You will have gone through this process during signup.

Add another authenticator device

To add a new authenticator device you need to be loigged in and have access to your authenticator app.

  1. Go to Account, then "Security Settings".
  2. Under "Authenticator app" use "Setup authenticator app".
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app.
  4. On Lifesafe, enter the 6-digital code shown in your authenticator app.

Generate a new authenticator code 

Generating a new code will render current codes obsolete (use this when your phone has been lost or stolen).

  1. Go to Account, then "Security Settings". 
  2. Under "Authenticator app" use "Generate a new authenticator code". 
  3. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app. 
  4. On Lifesafe, enter the 6-digital code shown in your authenticator app.

Note: Your authenticator app should have updated the one you already had, but if you have an extra one; delete it.
