Account security tips

Your security is our highest priority. Help us by following these golden rules:

  1. Don't use Lifesafe on public wifi.
  2. Don't use Lifesafe on shared devices.
  3. Always use a unique password for every account.
  4. Keep an eye on the status and activity in Security Settings.
  5. We will never ask you for your password or totp code.

Compromised password

Best practice is to reset your password, and log out everywhere which forces all users to log in again with the new password.

  1. Go to Account, then "Security Settings".
  2. Use "Change password"
  3. Enter your new password and six-digit code from your authenticator app.
  4. Finally from "Security and settings", use "Log out everywhere"

Lost access to authenticator app

If you have lost access to your authenticator app (eg. phone broken, lost or stolen) you can generate a new one. This will stop the old one working. If you can get into Lifesafe (eg. using a pin): 

  1. Go to Account, then "Security Settings".
  2. Use "Generate new authenticator code".
  3. Setup Lifesafe on your authenticator app from the QR code displayed.

If you are locked out completely (due to not having the authenticator code) you will need to recover your account first.
