Account recovery
It is important to create a recovery code for your account. When you have forgotten your pin, password or lost access to your authenticator app and you can no longer access your account - this code will get you back in - allowing you to reset the password and reconfigure your authenticator app.
Create a recovery code
- Visit https://app.mylifesafe.com/Manage/Security/RecoveryCode
- Enter your password and authenticator code.
A recovery code is generated and displayed on the screen. We do not store this code - print this out and store it in a safe place at home, or store it on another device. We do not recommend that you store this code on a device that has access to your email account.
If you have generated a recovery code prior, it is now void. Only the latest code is valid. You can only use a code once before you need to generate a new one.
Recovering your account
To recover your account you need to have access to your email and your recovery code, it's 24 characters long and looks like XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX.
- Visit https://app.mylifesafe.com/Recover
- Enter your email address.
- A six digit code is sent to your email address. Enter that code on Lifesafe.
- Enter your recovery code.
After you use a recovery code it won't work again. It's important that now you reset your password and create a new recovery code.
